This was my second tour with The Cultural Experience and once again it was fantastic. Emma did a wonderful job juggling all of the various needs of the group members and kept everything running smoothly. Bob was very knowledgeable and used his personal experience to give vivid descriptions of the experiences of the soldiers on D-Day. The hotel was very comfortable and nicely located. All of the restaurants had delicious food and I liked how the options ranged from full menu choices at one restaurant, to a set menu at another.

Marlborough - The First Churchill

Everything was well done. The guide was excellent, as ever Shaun was a first class tour manager. Our accommodation was very comfortable, the food very good, and the wine was more than acceptable. Our travels were comfortable and well co-ordinated. What more could I want?

This tour met and often exceeded all my expectations. Administrative arrangements were very well handled, including when something went awry. The tour was very well planned and the substantive guide was very well informed and very organized and articulate in his delivery. He and the administrative director showed great flexibility in accommodating the specific interests of those in the group who articulated them. Hotels and restaurants selected were all quite satisfactory.

The scholar who led the tour was fantastic -- great information and just the right pacing. The handler who went along was also wonderful. So nice, thoughtful, and organized

That this tour was a disappointment to Che is of great concern to us but it has taken over 8 weeks since his return for him to communicate such dissatisfaction with us and now that he has, we have been in touch with each other to understand his concerns.Russia is a vast country and in order to cover the battles associated with Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk it necessarily means that there is much travel which is vulnerable to delay and thus time spent at each location has to be proportionately limited during a 10 day tour. However had Che notified us when he booked this tour (or even at any time prior to its departure) that a visit to Kubinka was his sole objective, then we would have recommended that he extend his tour by an extra day and organised him a special visit, as for the dedicated tank enthusiast there is indeed much to see. That being said Kubinka Tank Museum is presently relocating many of its exhibits to sites closer to the centre of Moscow, which was one of the reasons for the one-hour delay that was experienced on the day we visited. We freely admit that some lunches were taken late and make no apology for this as flexibility of itinerary is essential otherwise we would be curtailing important visits simply to make a lunch appointment which would make the tour seem even more rushed. The number of clients on the tour has been exaggerated - there were 22, not 30 as stated in the review. We have shared Che?s comments with Bob Kershaw, our expert guide, who was extremely surprised by them ? indeed Bob remembers him stating to him that he was on the trip of a life-time, thoroughly enjoying himself and even enthusiastically offered to build Bob a model tank!Che?s comments do not reflect of the experience of other participants of the tour as independently expressed elsewhere on Feefo, but we do accept that there are areas in which we can and will improve this tour. This is in line with our mantra of listening to and working with our guests to provide them with the best expert led historical tours in the world.

We enjoyed our DDay tour with Bob. Our grandson was extremely happy with the sights and information. A bit more information as we travelled between the sights would have been useful. We thought that Bob was well prepared. I think that a printed schedule of where and when we would eat dinner, a dinner menu with a few choices rather than none or everything on the menu would have been a better plan. I think knowing when lunch would be and how much free time we had and when and where would have made lunch time or other Museum visiting easier if this was better organized. Knowing the times of breakfast and the time the bus would leave would have been useful. We visited Bayeaux on our own ahead of the tour and did not expect the tapistries to. be an option as was stated in the tour description. Had we known, I would have gone somewhere else like Giverny or Chinoncheaux in the Loire with our daughter and grandson.

This was a fascinating and beautifully organized tour. Col. Bob Kershaw is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent speaker; his selection of places to visit was nicely balanced among the D-Day beaches themselves, other sites of important actions and German defenses, and museums. Emma Curteis, our delightful tour manager, selected the attractive and comfortable Hotel Moderne for us in Caen and took us to excellent restaurants every night for dinner. She also arranged a local guide for an extra day in Normandy for me and a companion, and that guide turned out to be superb also. I highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in World War 2.

D Day Landings & Paris

Excellent tour, both in content and administration. A little disorganization in accessing off-the-beaten path sites/sights -- several dead ends, retracing routes, etc. But the sites/sights were well worth it.

The itinerary for our "Battle of Berlin" tour was really excellent, and covered all the key places of interest. In Major Nigel Dunkley, we had a uniquely qualified tour guide. A German and Russian speaker, who has lived and served in Berlin for many years, he had an outstanding knowledge of the subject. And was able in the most entertaining way, to bring this historic battle to life, bringing in many facts and figures which few others would have known.
Shaun Bartlett was almost efficient and attentive tour guide.
Hotel, transportation and restaurants were all fine.

The Napoleonic War In Southern Spain

Excellent expert but getting lost every day was weary-some. Mainly good hotels and restaurants.
Being the inaugural tour warranted a visit to the destinations in advance. Having a bus too large for Gibraltar and too large to access many locations was very frustrating
