Dan Kaszeta

Historian and author, Fellow of the Royal Historical Society

Dan Kaszeta is a historian, author, and specialist consultant living and working in London. After a degree in political science from Texas Christian University, his career started as an officer in the US Army, followed by interesting roles in the Pentagon, White House, and the US Secret Service, before moving to London in 2008. Mr. Kaszeta also holds an M.A. degree in International Affairs from George Washington University and is a correspondent for European Security and Defence Magazine as well as an occasional contributor to other publications.

From 2021 to 2024, Dan was an Associate Fellow of the Royal United Services Institute. In 2024, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and served as a Writer in Residence at Gladstone’s Library in Wales.

Dan is half Lithuanian by descent and has had a keen interest in Baltic history and politics his entire life. He has travelled extensively in all three Baltic states. As a historian, Dan has specialised in the history of chemical warfare, 20th Century Baltic States, and the history of London, particularly Charing Cross. His books include Toxic: A history of nerve agents from Nazi Germany to Putin’s Russia (2020), The Forest Brotherhood: Baltic resistance against the Nazis and Soviets (2023), and The Baltic States in World War II (due out September 2025).
