Terry is a Turkey specialist. He lived in the country for almost 15 years, speaks Turkish and has been travelling the length and breadth of this continent spanning nation for some four decades for both work and leisure. The main author of The Rough Guide to Turkey for many years, he also wrote The Rough Guide to Istanbul and has contributed to many other guides to Turkey, as well as writing Turkey-related travel and culture features for The Telegraph and other publications. With a background in Ancient History, he has been leading specialist tours in this archaeology and history steeped land since 2006.
