The 17th and 18th Centuries were an era of change, colonialisation, discovery and war. From Frederick the Great & the English Civil War to the bloody scramble for North America, experience the sites, witness the evidence and unearth the stories behind some of the periods most striking moments in the company of kindred spirits, our expert guide and dedicated tour manager.

As much as possible, we try to coincide our tours with the anniversaries of the events concerned, engaging with the topical debates of past and present and tying in with re-enactments and publications on the topic.

Frederick the Great This tour visits battlefields from two different wars: The War of Austrian Succession (in particular the First Silesian War) and the Seven Years War. Frederick the Great in Silesia This tour travels the sparsely populated sandy pine-covered ridges and marshes of Western Poland. It follows Frederick the Great's campaigns throughout German Silesia. find out more and register interest
Rebels and Redcoats Opposition to London’s insensitive colonial policies on taxation and governance was provoked into outright rebellion when British soldiers attempted to disarm Massachusetts patriots in April 1775. find out more and register interest
The English Civil War in The South The English Civil Wars are part of a living political tradition which continue to rage on paper and debate nearly four centuries after the internecine bloodletting. find out more and register interest
