About The Cultural Experience

The Cultural Experience based in Four Marks, Alton, England, was formed by Alan Rooney in 2009 after turning his passion for history and travel into a business proposition.

The Company now employs a small team of travel professionals who plan and organise over 80 tours a year and has access to many more historians and academics to help deliver and guide the tours on the ground.

The company ethos is based on three principles:

• Using sound research and planning to create a three dimensional version of history (human, time and space) - and to place the colourful characters and exciting events concerned at the very locations they came together.
• Using experienced expert guides, chosen for their ability to pull these three dimensions together in an engaging and entertaining manner – so you can virtually ‘touch and feel’ what it would have been like on the day.
• Putting all this in the cultural context of the local countryside, customs and cuisine - in a relaxed but organised way.
